A juicy secret to get you through the holidays

With the holidays upon us, just about everyone crosses their fingers and prays for more willpower to get through the fa-la-la-ing without saying “f@#* it” and devouring a whole box of cookies. Or busting a gut on too much pumpkin pie. Unfortunately, this rarely works!

With the holidays upon us, just about everyone crosses their fingers and prays for more willpower to get through the fa-la-la-ing without saying "f@#* it" and devouring a whole box of cookies. Or busting a gut on too much pumpkin pie.

Unfortunately, this rarely works!

Not because you didn't hope and pray hard enough, but because willpower is just another way of pressuring yourself to do something that's just not sustainable.

Well, you know how the day after Christmas is a big rush to exchange gifts you don't want? The exchange we're going to do today, to help you stay on track during the holidays, is exchanging willpower for commitment.

So how is commitment different than willpower? It's your special vow to yourself to help yourself achieve what you most want.

The point is, this year when you're tempted to go eat that tin of cookies or to stop working out and let it all go, think positive!

Instead of saying, "no, that's bad, must resist," ask yourself, "is this supporting my commitment to myself?"

The language changes everything, and make it so much easier to stay on track. Now get committed to having the best holiday ever!
