Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi reached the University of Hyderabad around 1 pm on Tuesday to meet the family of deceased Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula and other expelled students of the varsity. While Gandhi was ushered inside the tent, where Rohith camped before committing suicide and where his family has been staying put since his death, local party leaders were not allowed to set foot inside the campus. Students, raising slogans against these leaders, rued how they never bothered to show up until now to listen to their grievances.
I do not come here as a politician but as a young person. I want to make sure that everyone can proudly speak his mind.
Whoever is responsible for this (Rohith's suicide) must be punished in the strictest manner possible.
Whoever is responsible for this outcome (#RohithVemula's death) has to be punished. Rohith is not alone, don't let ball fall here

I agree with the students here: surely Rohith committed suicide but the conditions for his suicide were created by the VC and the minister.
