Twitter founder Jack Dorsey confirmed today that he is staying on as Twitter's permanent CEO, following three months as the company's interim CEO. And of course, Dorsey made the announcement on—where else?—Twitter.

Dorsey will now be tasked with balancing CEO roles at both Twitter and Square, Dorsey's other company. On Twitter and in a call with investors, Dorsey assured the public that this is not as insurmountable a task as it might seem.

Going forward, Dorsey says one critical point of focus will be helping the general public understand Twitter and making the platform easier for new users.

In an investor call, Dorsey said Twitter still has "a lot of work" to do to prove its value to the general public. And that's important, Dorsey said, because "the world needs a Twitter that not only remains relevant but thrives."
"My commitment to Twitter runs incredibly deep," Dorsey said. "No one is more determined than I am to see this company fulfill its promise."
