Kenzie Hess Memorial Scholarship

Makenzie Hess & her mother Mona Hess both lost their lives during a senseless act of violence. I had the honor of being Kenzie's best friend.  Although her life was taken away from her far too early at the young age of 22, she had always wanted to leave an impact on the world in a positive way.

This is the second year we are proud to be giving the high school Makenzie attended, a scholarship award to students.

Every penny raised will go directly to the winners of the scholarship. Last year's scholarship focused on anti-bullying.

This year we have decided to raise a new issue for the students. We will be asking them to write about how their school has educated them about the serious problems that exist, such as domestic violence, emotionally abusive relationships, and how toxic relationships can cause more harm than people realize.

Then the students will also write about suggestions that they have on how their school can improve to ensure that the proper education about these issues actually can truly reach and impact the students.

I will be trying to work with the school to implement some of their students' suggestions. This scholarship's goal is to remember two great people Makenzie, and her mother Mona...and even though they are no longer with us on Earth, we are working towards carrying out their never ending compassion and desire to make this world a better place. 

If we can help even the smallest number of the students at Makenzie's school, lives may be improved and some student's lives may be saved one day from tragedies that could have been prevented.

We all still love you Kenzie & Mona. Your legacy will never be forgotten.
