Emma Holcroft for Giddy Up Camera Club

Ashleigh & Saurav

Oh the romance is palpable in the elegant country wedding of Ashleigh and Saurav. Choosing a country venue that they loved, the couple went forth with planning making sure to include elements from both of their respective cultures (Indian and American). They chose to infuse a sense of the rustic into their desire for a modern wedding style. Emma Holcroft from The Giddy Up Camera Club (along with second shooter Meg) were there to capture the beautiful day.

On how they met, the newlyweds tell. “We met when we were at Uni. I (Ashleigh) use to work in a blockbuster video where Saurav use to get his DVDs from. We were both attracted to each other but it took Saurav a while to ask me out for a date and here we are 9 years later happily married and starting a new chapter of our life together.”

Of her Wendy Makin wedding gown, Ashleigh tells, “It was a beautiful Wendy Makin gown, chosen for its simple yet elegant and timeless look. All of my bridesmaids and Mother visited a number of bridal stores with me before we found the right dress. We had such wonderful service at Wendy Makin from the first visit until the last fitting.”

The couple settled on country venue Yandina Station for their wedding, remembering, “We visited a number of venues before selecting Yandina Station. After taking a tour of the property we knew that we wanted to be married under the Moreton Bay Fig Tree. It had character, was open and natural and didn’t feel staged.”
