Take a Look at the Blue Line's Many New Station Upgrades

New, 13 comments

Metro's oldest and most-used line—the mighty Blue Line— is right now in the midst of a six-year program that will bring much-needed upgrades to its stations and train tracks. These photos from The Source show cleaned-up station platforms, new canopies, bright lights, and track updates at the Anaheim Street, Fifth Street, First Street, and Downtown Long Beach stations. (The Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station is also getting a mega-overhaul.) As it moves forward, the $1.2-billion project will also bring in new safety measures and new rail cars, all of which will make things a lot nicer for Blue Line riders and for passengers on the future Regional Connector.
