Travis Browne's estranged wife: 'We'll let the state of California decide whether I suffered from domestic violence'

Travis Browne might be free to compete after an ex-FBI investigator turned up "inconclusive" evidence in his investigation as to whether or not acts of domestic violence were carried out against his estranged wife, Jenna Renee Webb, back in July.

However, he will be facing new charges from Webb in the state of California.

The 33-year-old Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight was temporarily sidelined pending the outcome of the investigation and was also unable to participate in UFC "Fight Week." Though he is now free to compete (his manager John Fosco always knew he would be) as a result of the investigation, "Hapa" could now face domestic violence charges from local authorities.

Webb's full statement to WomensMMA.com:

"I told them the truth, I gave them photos, I gave them a dated and detailed journal, and how they came up with those results is beyond belief. The investigator got this info and helped the UFC come to this conclusion. My family and I are totally baffled. It just shows what an abused person from a close family in Florida faces when they go up against an ex-FBI investigator, Campbell & Williams, and the UFC. They have more money than we do. They appear to be the winners. We believe that in the end truth prevails. At the present time, I feel that the truth hasn’t come out and I have no other option than to press charges with the same evidence that was provided, and we’ll let the state of California decide whether I suffered from domestic violence."

Webb was blindsided by the release of the findings by UFC and its third-party investigator, stating that nobody had contacted her about the investigation's outcome prior to the release of the statement.

As for Browne, he thanked his family, friends, fans and team for their "overwhelming support," while also stating, "saying nothing, requires more strength than saying everything."
