Titan FC inks 'TUF 19' runner-up Dhiego Lima for June 10 debut

“The Ultimate Fighter 19” runner-up Dhiego Lima has joined the Titan FC welterweight roster.

Titan FC officials today confirmed the signing with MMAjunkie.

Lima (10-4) is slated for a promotional debut at Titan FC 39, which takes place June 10 at BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla. An opponent hasn’t been finalized for Lima, whose bout streams on UFC Fight Pass.

“As we have proven before, Titan FC is ready, willing and able to jump on an opportunity at any time,” Titan FC CEO Jeff Aronson stated. “Just hours after Titan FC 38, we began negotiations with Dhiego Lima. He’s a great addition to our growing welterweight division, and we’re excited to watch him compete on June 10, live on UFC Fight Pass.”

In 2014 Lima advanced to the “TUF 19” middleweight tournament final, where he ultimately suffered a knockout loss to show champion Eddie Gordon. The 27-year-old Brazilian rebounded with a decision victory over Jorge de Oliveira, but after subsequent back-to-back knockout loss to Tim Means and Li Jingliang, he received his UFC pink slip after an official 1-3 run in the promotion.

Lima hopes a successful Titan FC run will eventually get him back in the octagon.

“This is a great opportunity to begin accomplishing my goal, which is to get back to the UFC,” he stated. “Titan FC welterweight champion (Belal Muhammad) is great, but I feel as though my style matches up really well with his. Beginning June 10, I’m gunning for that belt.”

The latest Titan FC 39 card now includes:

  • Gesias Cavalcante vs. Pat Healy – for vacant lightweight title
  • Dhiego Lima vs. TBA
