Video: 'Cowboy' Cerrone breaks down his 'Warrior Code' ahead of UFC Fight Night 83

A week from today, the UFC will host a “Cowboy” vs. “Cowboy” welterweight battle in “Steel City.”

Donald Cerrone (28-7 MMA, 15-4 UFC) will move from lightweight to 170 pounds for the first time when he meets short-notice replacement Alex Oliveira (14-2-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) in the UFC Fight Night 83 main event in Pittsburgh.

UFC Fight Night 83 takes place Feb. 21 at Pittsburgh’s CONSOL Energy Center. The card airs on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

Cerrone moves up to welterweight after falling short against lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos with a 66-second TKO loss in December’s UFC on FOX 17 headliner. It snapped the veteran fighter’s eight-bout winning streak.

Oliveira, a 27-year-old Brazilian, has won three straight fights since a UFC-debut loss to Gilbert Burns on short notice. Most recently, he dropped from welterweight to lightweight and scored a “Performance of the Night” bonus after knocking out Piotr Hallmann in November.

Cerrone has become famous – and sometimes infamous – for his lifestyle outside the cage. Both he and Oliveira are former rodeo cowboys, but Cerrone takes his love of more extreme hobbies to a different level than pretty much any other fighter out there.

In the video above, Cerrone talks about what makes up his “Warrior Code.” Check out the video above. Then don’t miss his UFC Fight Night 83 main event against another “Cowboy,” Oliveira,” a week from today in Pittsburgh.
