Sarah Platt ends up in a zombie-like psychotic state after being held hostage by heroin addict Lee Mayhew on Coronation Street.

Mother-of-two Sarah, suffers a breakdown after a terrifying attack triggers memories of the violence she suffered at the hands of her ex Callum Logan.

Callum, played by Sean Ward, was killed by Sarah’s sister-in-law Kylie, played by Paula Lane, in the soap’s live episode last September after she walked in on him attacking Sarah, played by Tina O'Brien.

An unstable Sarah recently confessed to her ex Todd Grimshaw, played by Bruno Langley, that she was responsible for his death and is struggling with her guilt after the recent discovery of Callum’s body hidden under Gail’s granny flat in the Platt household.

So when Lee, the brother of her vicar friend Billy Mayhew, lures her back to his bedsit and holds her hostage, telling Billy he will release her in return for £1,000, it unsurprisingly tips her over the edge in scenes to be screened on Sunday night. And to make matters worse Lee tells her that Callum is alive.

Sarah attempts to make a run for it but Lee wrestles her to the floor. Thankfully Billy has recruited the help of Todd and Sarah’s brother David, played by Jack P Shepherd, and David breaks down the door.
