The Northern Quarter appeared to be transformed into a crime scene as police swarmed the area this morning.

Passers-by saw police and forensic investigators in white suits at work - but thankfully the scenes were all part of filming for the Michelle Keegan army series Our Girl.

The former Coronation Street star was nowhere to be seen, but it looks like there is going to be high drama ahead on the show starring Michelle as Corporal Georgie Lane.

Michelle has recently been on location in Manchester filming dramatic scenes, including her character coming to the aid of a young female cyclist who had been involved in a collision with a car at the George Street junction, near to Manchester Art Gallery.

She was seen having a wedding day tantrum in a Stretford street clad in a tiara, jeans and trainers and running for a train at Piccadilly station. And Michelle, who played murdered barmaid Tina McIntyre in Corrie, was also caught in a downpour while filming in a Heywood park.

Michelle has been in Manchester after filming in South Africa for several weeks.

Earlier this month she s tepped out in support of reality star husband Mark Wright when he played for England in Soccer Aid 2016 at Old Trafford, scoring a stunning goal which saw him awarded Man of the Match.
