Former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan laughed as she got caught in the downpour this afternoon.

Luckily the Salford actress had a large umbrella on hand as torrential rain started to lash the region, bringing the recent spell of sunshine to an abrupt end.

Michelle was filming the BBC army drama Our Girl in a Heywood park when it started pouring down and cast and crew had to move indoors.

An onlooker said: “She laughed at first when it started raining but then it got heavier and heavier.

“It was a good thing that she had a big brolly to keep her covered from the rain.”

Michelle has been filming her role Corporal Georgie Lane in Manchester after filming in South Africa for several weeks.

At the weekend she stepped out in support of reality star husband Mark Wright when he played for England in Soccer Aid 2016 at Old Trafford, scoring a stunning goal which saw him awarded Man of the Match.

A thrilled Mark Instragrammed a photo of the happy couple together in the England dressing room with the message: “Man of the match, I scored, england won and this one joined us in the dressing room after.... Couldn’t wish for a better prize waiting for me xxx OH WHAT A NIGHT !! One I will never forget.”
