Former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan set tongues wagging when she announced that she was packing her suitcase.

She had fans questioning why she was packing after tweeting “packing a suitcase has to be one of the most soul destroying things to do ever! ... my brain hurts!”

And the Irlam-raised actress, who has been dogged by speculation about her marriage to former TOWIE star Mark Wright, got followers into a lather when she added: “... and no, it’s not for holiday purposes!!!”

One follower pointed out “Ooooh that’ll get tongues waggin” and others warned that her tweet would only add to the talk about her marriage.

The brunette Corrie favourite, who played barmaid Tina McIntyre on the ITV1 soap, recently hit back on Twitter at people questioning why she had been spotted without her wedding ring, explaining that she takes it off to keep it safe while filming.

She and hunky reality TV personality Mark celebrated their first wedding anniversary in May and last week he shared a photo on Instagram of the handsome couple strolling in the sea together with the message “TBT me and THE ONE!!”

Michelle has been in Manchester filming the BBC army drama Our Girl and she is now working on the new ITV series Tina and Bobby, which will also be filmed in Manchester.

Michelle will play Tina, the wife of 1966 England World Cup hero Bobby Moore.

Yesterday her co-star Patsy Kensit tweeted a photo of their name cards side by side at the first day of rehearsals.

She said: “In Manchester!! First day of rehearsals with my beautiful brilliant on screen daughter.”

And Michelle replied: “Awww lovely seeing you Patsy... Can’t wait to work along side you. xxx”

She has now completed filming her role as Corporal Georgie Lane in Our Girl and posted a message on her Instagram to mark the occasion.
