So long, Ryan!

Coronation Street has said another fond farewell to one of its cast members with a lavish party at Rosso.

Ryan Thomas has left the cobbles after 16 years playing Jason Grimshaw and the soap hunk partied with Corrie cast and crew at the Rio Ferdinand-owned restaurant.

And there was even more reason to celebrate as Michelle Keegan, who is currently filming the new series of BBC war drama Our Girl, returned to her hometown to party with her former co-stars on her own 29th birthday.

Sue Cleaver, who plays Ryan’s onscreen mum led the ITV soap cast as they headed to the bash, with Bruno Langley, Alan Halsall and his wife Lucy-Jo Hudson, Jennie McAlpine, Samia Ghadie and Jane Danson also attending.

Ryan’s close pal and former cast mate Chris Fountain was also there, as was Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Livesy in rival soap Emmerdale.

Ryan managed to sneak in and out of the restaurant unnoticed as the group headed off to nightclub Suburbia on Ridgefield Street, where the partying continued long into the night.

Alison King, who played Carla Connor, also managed to dodge the cameras as she rejoined her old cast mates, having left the show in a dramatic storyline linked to the discovery of Callum Logan’s body.

It could be an even more memorable end for Ryan’s character Jason Grimshaw, who is set to be framed for Callum’s murder, with his final scenes airing over the next few weeks.
