Coronation Street may have missed out on the Best Soap gong, but they were certainly winners when it came to red carpet outfits at the British Soap Awards.

The cast travelled from the cobbles of Weatherfield to London for the annual awards bash, and they didn't half scrub up well.

Kym Marsh led the way in a red figure-hugging strapless dress, which draped effortlessly behind the pretty brunette.

Tisha Merry also plumped for a striking floor-length rouge gown, which she coupled with a pair of silver droplet earrings and bright red lipstick.

Faye Brookes, who was nominated as Best Newcomer but lost out to Bonnie Langford, looked gorgeous in a detailed two-piece.

Her multi-coloured pattered sheer top complimented her pleated white skirt and her stylish 'up do and blue clutch bag completed the look.

Former Corrie star Lucy-Jo Hudson hit the red carpet with her hubby Alan Halsall and the pair looked subtly co-ordinated.

Lucy-Jo wore a Grecian-white gown with her hair falling elegantly to one side as her handsome man opted for a dapper black dinner suit, white shirt and bow tie.

Other Corrie actors on the red carpet included Paula Lane and Jennie McAlpine, who both went for dark blue dresses, with Sair Khan and Sally Dynevor lovely in black.

Bhavna Limbachia looked like she had taken inspiration from her glamorous Corrie character Rana as she stunned in a plunging deep blue velvet.

The former Citizen Khan star first appeared on the Cobbles in February and Rana has become a popular character with viewers.

Elsewhere, black was a popular choice, with Emmerdale actress Gemma Atkinson choosing a Rena Honor Gold-designed dress.

The Bury-born 31-year-old was glowing and wearing a broad smile as she showed off her toned figure.

Her Emmerdale co-star Eden Taylor-Draper, who plays Belle Dingle on the ITV soap, which won best Soap for the first time in the awards' history, plumped for a cleavage-baring black number.

While Hollyoaks star Sarah George went backless with her gown.
