Nutrition coach and personal trainer Joe Wicks was celebrating the success of his new book when he arrived in Manchester to meet fans.

Joe, aka The Body Coach, is sitting at the top of the book charts with the second book in his Shift, Shape and Sustain series.

Lean in 15: The Shape Plan knocked his first book, Lean In 15, off the number one slot after its release last week.

Instagram sensation Joe, who became a big hit with his energetic high intensity workouts that people can follow at home and 15 second videos featuring recipes for his 15 minute meals, hit the gym just an hour before heading to The Dancehouse in Oxford Road for a signing and question and answer session.

After putting a shout-out on Twitter for a personal trainer to train him while he was in Manchester, he decided to put himself through his paces with his own workout in the gym at the Lowry Hotel because he had ended up short on time.

Joe, from Surbiton, London, who is famed for his catchphrases including Midget Trees to describe broccoli, said: “I had to do a workout because I have so much energy. I need to exercise to burn off the excess energy. I love it.”

The Shape Plan follows the principles of phase two of Joe’s bespoke 90 Day Shift, Shape and Sustain plan that has helped more than 100,000 people get fit, burn fat and build lean muscle.
