A groom-to-be died just seven hours into his own stag do in Magaluf after collapsing suddenly at his hotel.

Shaun Ennis, 31, and 17 pals flew to the holiday resort from Manchester and arrived just after midnight.

They went straight to some bars but within hours Shaun, a dad-of-three, was banging on his future brother-in-law's hotel door saying he did not feel well.

Moments later he started convulsing.

Friends and relatives battled to resuscitate Shaun with dad Brian giving him the kiss of life.

But despite their desperate efforts Shaun could not be saved and passed away at the scene.

An investigation into the cause of his death on 10 June is now underway.

Dad Brian, 57, told the M.E.N how Shaun, from Stretford, was due to marry the love of his life Kiri Robinson next month and had been excited to go on his stag do.

He said: “It was our first night, we only got there around midnight and went out straight away.

“There were 18 of us and everyone was really excited and looking forward to three days away.

“It was in the early hours, around 6am, Shaun knocked on his future brother-in-law’s room and said he didn’t feel well. He went onto the balcony and started convulsing. Mikey called me in and I tried to save him, tried to give him the kiss of life, the paramedics tried too but it was too late.”

An autopsy has been carried out in Majorca by Spanish authorities, and Shaun’s body will be released to his family once a preliminary report is completed within the next week.

His family say bringing Shaun home will cost thousands, and his sister Toni has launched a fundraising bid to try and cover some of the costs.

So far the total is at £6,000, but it’s expected, along with the price of a funeral, closer to £10,000 will be needed.

Toni wrote on the Crowdfunding page: “As you all may or may not know.. Our wonderful brother Shaun unfortunately lost his life on the 10/06/2016 whilst celebrating his stag do in Magaluf.

“He was due to marry the love of his life on the 23rd of July to our beautiful Kiri and now sadly we are having to lay him to rest. He was 3 weeks away from meeting his beautiful baby niece, our daughter.. And was also due to watch our big sister get married next year..

“He’s left behind 3 gorgeous children.. Who will forever live on in his memory.

“He’s also left behind the most amazing group of lads who when we see them we will see him.

“Shaun unfortunately wasn’t insured on his trip so we are trying to give a little back to our wonderful dad who is still out there fighting every hurdle thrown at him and to try and make this tragic time that little bit less painful with not as much worry.

“Shaun was a beautiful person inside and out and would be buzzing his little face off if he knew just how well liked and loved he really was by all.”

Painter and decorator Shaun moved from Stretford when he was 14 to live in Buxton with his mum Sheila Pink.

He was a former pupil of St Antony’s Catholic College and had three children, aged 14, nine and six.

Brian wanted to thank Shaun’s friends, especially those on the stag, who he says have been a “rock of support” throughout the ordeal, as well as his wife Alison and cousin John Vanden who flew out to be with him, and all those who have donated towards the fund.

He added: “Shaun was so well-liked and popular and the measure of that shows by the level of support we have received already, it’s very overwhelming.”
