Police are appealing for help to trace a pregnant teenage girl who has been missing from Tameside for almost two weeks.

Rebecca Strang, 17, was last seen in Stalybridge at around 2:40pm on Friday May 6.

The teenager is 17 weeks pregnant and has missed her last ante-natal clinic appointment, police said.

Detectives leading the search for Rebecca say she is known to frequent Manchester city centre and has been known to travel to Warrington and Glasgow.

Officers say they are growing increasingly concerned for Rebecca’s welfare.

Det Insp David Loughlin, of GMP’s Tameside Division, said: “We are concerned for Rebecca and her unborn baby’s welfare and would urge her to get in touch with the police to let us know she is safe and well.”

Rebecca is described as white, is approximately 5ft 2in tall and of a slim build with long brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a mid-length dress, beige Timberland boots, a black jacket and a beany hat.

Anybody with any information about her whereabouts is asked to police on 101.
