Danczuk death threats

Breaking: Counter terrorism police have warned two suspects over a series of death threats made against Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk.

Graphic and violent messages were sent to Mr Danczuk via social media in December last year.

The threats were reported to Greater Manchester Police who acted under the direction of the North West Counter Terrorism Unit, his office said today.

They said the messages were traced to homes in Leicester and London, where local police forces found the two suspects.

A spokesman for Mr Danczuk said they were warned against further malicious communication and their details were added to the national crime and intelligence system. More soon.

EU Referendum

Fascinating this. More than 350 people in Greater Manchester tried to vote for BOTH leave and remain in the EU referendum.

The Electoral Commission has revealed the number of ballot papers cast in last month’s referendum that were deemed to be invalid in each individual local authority counting area. In the build-up to the vote the question of whether the UK should leave the European Union was dividing hearts and minds across the country, and it seems that for some people the choice proved too much.
