Some schools will close altogether while others will be partially closed for the classes affected.

The union is calling for increased funding to schools and education, a guarantee over terms and conditions in all types of schools, and for negotiations on teacher contracts to resume.

Local authorities have been compiling lists of all the schools affected by tomorrow’s strike.

Here’s which schools are closed, or partially closed, in your area.

Police have just released a statement on the M62 crash.

Officers attended the scene and found that a car travelling on the eastbound carriageway was involved in a collision with a HGV. The car then went through the central reservation onto the westbound carriageway and collided with another car and two HGVs.

The man travelling in the car was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and work is ongoing to identify this man and trace his family.

PC Ed Lister said: “GMP, along with other emergency services, are continuing to deal with a large scene near to junction 21 of the M62 involving multiple vehicles, and in which one man has sadly lost his life.

“Our officers are doing all we can to identify this man as quickly as possible so we can speak with his family, and also to deal with the other injured people and damaged vehicles at the scene.

“There are considerable traffic tailbacks following this collision and we are advising people wherever possible to avoid this area and use another route.”

Pictures of a man on a hospital bed, believed to be Smalling, have emerged on Twitter and are being widely shared. The injured man is pictured with bandages around his head and left wrist, and a brace also appears to be around his neck.

He’s well enough to give an autograph to a fan however, as the picture shows him signing what looks like a Manchester United shirt from the bed. United said they would investigate.
