An elderly woman was rescued by firefighters from flooding in a wheelie bin.
The amazing rescue was carried out on Bridge Lane in Bramhall, Stockport.
Firefighters can be seen wading through the waist-high water with the elderly woman stood inside the blue wheelie bin as they led her to safety.
It happened near the Nisa Local shop at around 6.30pm on Saturday.
Witness Michele Blackwell-Frier, 49, said: “Because the weather had come so quickly the firefighters couldn’t get down the hill from either side.
“I think they felt it was the quickest and most expedient way to get her out.
“I had just driven through the road before it closed. It was completely impassable within the hour.
“The river had flooded all the houses and the woman was trapped inside her home behind the funeral directors.
“I’ve never seen anything like it. One side of the road can sometimes get bad but nothing like that.
“Nobody could get through and the owner of the white BMW seen on the video had to abandon it.”
Clear up operations are now underway after large parts of Greater Manchester were battered by the heavy rain and floods .
Rail services are currently suspended between Hazel Grove and Buxton after a landslip and flooding affected a section of rail track in the Disley area.
Replacement buses are operating in both directions between Hazel Grove and Buxton.
A Transport for Greater Manchester spokesman said: “Network Rail is working to keep the disruption to a minimum and return services to normal as soon as possible - but there is currently no official timescale.

Nearly 20 fire engines were deployed to incidents across the region yesterday evening after the torrential downpours caused landslides, road closures and train delays.

The worst affected areas included Stockport, Marple and Offerton with 15 properties affected on Fulmar Drive on the Sheerwater Road Estate.
A number of fire engines attended the scene at 4pm, including a high volume pump from Bolton, and isolated electricity supplies and cleared drains.
A number of road closures remain in effect this morning after the floods damaged roads and bridges.
In Disley, the A6 Buxton Road West is shut between Coppice Lane and Lower Greenshall Lane.
The B6101 Strines Road is also closed in both directions between Station Road and Waterside Road after flooding affected the bridge.
In Poynton, Middlewood Road remains closed in both directions between Norbury Hollow Road and Park Lane after the road collapsed.
Anglesey Drive is also shut in both directions between the A523 London Road North and South Park Drive.
Police said a bridge damaged by the floods has forced the closure of the A5102 Bramhall Lane South in both directions from Broadway to the A5143 Bridge Lane.
GM Fire and Rescue Service group manager Ben Levy said: “At the peak of the floods we had 18 appliances deployed around the county, mostly in the Stockport, Marple and Offerton areas. “Crews have worked hard to support local communities impacted by heavy rain and to assist our neighbours, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.”
A Facebook page and online fundraising page has been set up by kind-hearted residents to raise funds for victims of the flooding in Hazel Grove, Bramhall, Offerton and Poynton.

The ‘Helping Hands for the June Floods’ page has already attracted nearly 2,000 members.
Jenny Gunther, 40, from sale, who set up the page, said: “It’s just horrendous what’s happened and is so unexpected. It’s June for goodness sake.
“So many people have been affected and some don’t have insurance.
“It’s just our way of doing something I suppose and trying to help in any way we can.
“People often don’t know what to do and find solace in donating.”
