THIS year is the 80th anniversary of the end of World War One.
The Royal British Legion in Haringey will be holding five services around the borough at the five war memorials. We are hoping that readers will be able to attend at least one of the ceremonies.
The services at Tottenham, Wood Green and Hornsey will be held at 10.45am, and then at Alexander Park Road (outside St Saviours Court) and Muswell Hill outside the church at 3pm.
The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal is a vital source of income to the Legion. Your donations help ex-servicemen and women in so many ways by providing care, shelter and support.
I would like to remind your readers that it is the custom to remember our dead by a two-minute silence, which will be on Sunday November 8 at the 11th hour, and also on Wednesday November 11 at again the eleventh hour.
