The 2015 edition of WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view will feature several marquee matches that are sure to help wrestling fans enjoy the final special event before the SummerSlam spectacular.

From the main event match between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to the heated rivalry between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt, the July PPV should exceed all expectations from the WWE Universe.

Here are some early predictions for the biggest matches on the 2015 WWE Battleground card.

Sheamus Walks Out as World Champion

Brock Lesnar is the biggest star in the wrestling industry, and his world title match at Battleground could result in one of the wildest and most unpredictable moments of the last few years.

After Lesnar and Rollins put on a great 25-minute match that makes both men look strong, Lesnar should collect the clean victory and celebrate with his new championship. With Sheamus still holding the Money in the Bank briefcase and The Authority always having a backup plan, a cash-in attempt at Battleground would be incredible.

Letting Sheamus walk out of the PPV with the title would be a legitimate swerve.

This outcome could also result in a Triple Threat bout at SummerSlam featuring Sheamus, Lesnar and Rollins that would see Sheamus collecting the victory over Rollins and leaving Lesnar on the outside looking in.

When Lesnar undoubtedly leaves for another hiatus, WWE officials could pit the new champion Sheamus—now with The Authority—against Rollins, who would be fighting as a face against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Roman Reigns Will Defeat Bray Wyatt

In one of the most exciting parts of Raw each week, the storyline between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt is pushing the limitations of what the PG rating can handle. For many fans, Wyatt has become this generation’s Ministry Undertaker.

Both of these wrestlers are very talented, and WWE officials see a bright future for each man, but only one wrestler can win at Battleground. As much as Wyatt deserves to win for carrying this entire feud thus far on the mic, Reigns has been positioned to take the first victory.

With Wyatt getting the upper hand time after time in this storyline thus far, Reigns will get revenge for his daughter in July, but the hope is that the match is good enough to warrant the feud continuing into SummerSlam.

With SummerSlam the company’s second-largest PPV of the year, it should be Wyatt who earns the victory there after putting over Reigns and taking key losses so far in his career to top stars such as John Cena and Undertaker.

Kevin Owens Wins United States Championship from John Cena

For weeks, the most impressive and entertaining part of WWE programming has been the ongoing feud between NXT champion Kevin Owens and United States champion John Cena, and that will continue through Battleground.

The hope is that Owens wins again but this time takes the U.S. title from Cena.

The two men have put on Match of the Year contenders each of the two previous times they stepped into the ring, and there is no doubt they will do it again. With a championship on the line and the stakes higher than ever, how the men react to the pressure will be imperative to the bout’s success.

Owens has proved time and time again that he deserves to be on this stage, and Cena has exceeded all expectations in the ring. After yet another five-star match, the hope is that Owens walks out of the PPV with a new championship around his waist.
