South Africa violence: 'I closed my shop on police advice'

A shopkeeper from Nigeria has told the BBC's Milton Nkosi how the threat of mob attacks forced him to close down his business in South Africa.

Sharif Danis has been in South Africa for 15 years. He shut down his shop in Johannesburg on police advice because of safety concerns.

Foreign-owned shops in South Africa have been attacked and looted in eastern Johannesburg in a series of xenophobic attacks, and there has also been violence in Durban and other areas of the country.
