Pique hit with €10,500 fine after getting abusive with the police

Gerard Pique has been find €10,500 after he got aggressive with Guardia Urbana branch of the Barcelona police last October.

The Barça defender was in the car with his brother, Marc, who was driving, when they were pulled over, leading to Pique's foul-mouthed rant at the officers.

"You are envious of me because I am famous," he blasted, adding that he would speak to their bosses, not pay the fine and that they were a "fucking embarrassment".

María Asunción González, the sentencing judge, said Pique had shown "verbal aggression", been "derogatory" and had an "attitude".

Pique earns a salary of around €6million each year, so the fine is unlikely to hit him hard in the pocket, but it may make him think twice before getting angry in the future.
