Classes suspended in Palo and Tacloban City for papal visit
Classes will be suspended in Palo and Tacloban City in Leyte later this week for the visit of Pope Francis there.
The Department of Education, in posts on its Twitter account Monday evening, said classes in all levels will be suspended between Jan. 14 and 16.
Classes will be suspended in Tacloban from Jan. 14 to 16.

In Palo, the DepEd said classes will be suspended Jan. 15 and 16.

Earlier, a report by radio dzBB's Rodil Vega said the Tacloban City government passed a resolution canceling classes from Jan. 14 to 16, to allow for more preparations for the pope's security.
Schools will also be prepared for the visit during the three-day class suspension, the report added.
Pope Francis is due to lead a Mass in Tacloban City on Saturday.
