Barcelona's acquisition of Luis Suarez is among the best signings of the season, according to a CIES study.
The International Centre for Sports Studies ranked the season's best performances by players who changed teams in the summer, and the group found that Suarez led Europe in creating scoring opportunities.
The former Liverpool man is ranked ahead of Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas and Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson, as well as Real Madrid's duo of James Rodriquez and Toni Kroos.
Fabregas also ranked second in distribution behind Bayern Munich's Xabi Alonso, while Kroos was third.
Dejan Lovren has had his struggles for Liverpool this season but was credited for his work ethic and leads the "rigour" category.
Bayer Leverkusen's Karim Bellarabi was recognised for his willingness to "take on," just ahead of Manchester United's Angel Di Maria and Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez.
