As the latest measure to create a more culturally diverse downtown Denver, the Downtown Denver Partnership and Downtown Denver Business Improvement District are launching a pop-up beer garden in Skyline Park that will run from Friday, August 19 at 4 p.m. until Thursday, Sept. 15.

The Skyline Beer Garden will be located at Arapahoe Road and 16th Street Mall and open to guests of all ages from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.

“The Downtown Denver Partnership is excited to bring forward a new and unique program to encourage residents, employees and visitors to gather in Downtown Denver in one of our most vibrant parks,” John Desmond, the executive vice president of downtown environment for the Downtown Denver Partnership, said in a statement. “The Skyline Beer Garden builds on several initiatives to bring diverse and attractive programming to Skyline Park and support long-term strategies to create a premier outdoor Downtown that contributes to an economically thriving center city.”

Working with the directors of Lowry Beer Garden, the event will host 12 Colorado craft beers on tap, a selection of mixed cocktails and wine, gourmet brats, burgers, pretzels, salads, a conglomeration of other food and tented seating for convenience. There will also be plenty of family-friendly snacks. Food and drinks will be sold through a simple ticket system.

The garden will take up about 40,000 square feet of outdoor space and is outlined to create a relaxed, family-friendly setting.

There will be Oktoberfest-style picnic tables that can seat more than 350 guests. Food aside, there will also be ping pong, nine-hole miniature golf, cornhole and live music every Friday and Saturday.

The pop-up dog park and children’s play area in Skyline Park will continue through Sept. 30.
