David Jones' Facebook page has been inundated with racist comments after unveiling their new brand ambassador, AFL great Adam Goodes.

The Australian department store revealed their six ambassadors on Sunday by sharing their 'It's In You' campaign video and instantly copped an onslaught of 'boos' and racist remarks about indigenous Australians, many too offensive to publish.

'Didn't really like David Jones as a store or chain but can be sure I will never set foot or spend a cent in there now,' a Brisbane man commented.

'I cannot believe this. What happens when he gets booed on the catwalk, will he run off crying! I am sure it will happen,' another woman wrote.

Many claimed they would not shop at the iconic department store as long as Goodes is a brand ambassador, with others stating that former Carlton footballer Chris Judd 'would have been a better choice.'

Others even went so far as to comment on the 2014 Australian of the years' appearance and labelled him a 'flog' and a 'sook.'

'David Jones "bootique," one disgruntled Facebook user began calling the store.

Goodes is the only new member of David Jones' brand ambassadors, that also include model Jessica Gomes and You Am I singer Tim Rogers. Goodes retired from football because he was repeatedly booed during games.

The 35-year-old will also be working with the company on their Reconciliation Action Plan and its broader Corporate Social Responsibility program.

This comes after the Sydney Swans announced Goodes is taking indefinite leave due to the stress he has endured while being jeered relentlessly following several incidents in which he represented his Indigenous heritage.

An influx of support for the AFL star followed the negative Facebook remarks, with many calling Goodes a 'hero,' and 'fantastic choice,' for the campaign.
