Surfdog Taps ReverbNation CONNECT for Opening Acts

ReverbNation has announced that Low Volts, a member of its invitation-only artist development incubator, CONNECT, will be hitting the road with the three-time Grammy-winning Brian Setzer Orchestra as the main support act this winter on the band's "12th annual Christmas Rocks! Tour." The national tour kicks off in Minneapolis on Nov. 14 and hits cities such as Nashville, New Orleans and Los Angeles before culminating with a final show in Seattle on Dec. 27.

"I'm very honored and excited to be chosen for this tour opportunity and can't wait to learn from one of the masters night after night across the country," said Low Volts' Tim Lowman. "It's also absolutely perfect timing to road-test new songs before I head into the studio to make the third record. ReverbNation and their CONNECT program have been instrumental in helping bring us together and I'm extremely grateful for the help, it really is a dream."

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was made possible for Low Volts after Brian Setzer's record label and management company, Surfdog Records/Dave Kaplan Management, turned to ReverbNation to help them find a promising young band to fill the much-coveted slot. Scott Seine (Surfdog Records/Dave Kaplan Management Executive VP and GM) commented, "ReverbNation has always been supportive of new bands, and I knew they had some great and quality artists in their world."

This latest success story for ReverbNation is another example of the quality of music the website is providing through its curation at scale capabilities. Over the past year a number of music festivals, sporting events and tours such as Milwaukee's Summerfest, The X Games and Special Olympics have tapped into ReverbNation capability and community for high-quality artists to play their events.

"We're thrilled for Low Volts to get this much deserved opportunity," said Matt DuFour, Director of CONNECT and A&R for ReverbNation. "We have tremendous respect for Brian Setzer and Surfdog Records and are so pleased they tapped into our curation-at-scale capability to find the right act who was ready for such a career-changing opportunity.
