‘Donald Trump is the virus’: Anthony Scaramucci blames market plunge on president

.

Anthony Scaramucci said President Trump needed to be quarantined but not for the coronavirus.

The former White House communications director argued Trump was responsible for the plunge in global markets. During an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Scaramucci explained why he thought the markets were responding to Trump, not the coronavirus outbreak in the United States.

“The market knows, and people are really starting to figure this out now, is that Donald Trump is the virus,” Scaramucci said. “At the end of the day, what he has done, and he’s affected and replicated through the executive branch, and he’s destroyed the crisis management elements of the executive branch that we need right now.”

He argued that Trump’s staff was too afraid to confront the president about his response to the coronavirus, saying: “It’s a national tragedy born from one person. But you have to remember, the president’s staff is afraid of him. And so they don’t like dealing with him, and they’re trying to make something that’s very insane, which is President Trump, sound sane.”

“And so this is the danger that we’re dealing with right now,” Scaramucci continued. “But the market does know, Joe, that Donald Trump is actually the virus and he’s replicated throughout the executive branch and has more or less decapitated their ability to handle this crisis.”

Scaramucci said that if he were still in the White House, he would advise Trump’s staff to “quarantine” the president from Twitter so that experts can address the public without his influence.

“They’ve got to isolate him,” Scaramucci explained. “He almost needs to go into a verbal communication quarantine to help out the rest of the nation.”

Scaramucci worked as communications director for just 11 days. He has since become one of Trump’s outspoken critics.
