Weather week: On the warm side; daily chance of showers

South Florida this week is in a weather pattern that will see mostly warm temperatures and a chance of showers most every day.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday’s forecast calls for isolated showers —a 30 percent overall rain chance— and otherwise partly cloudy conditions with a high near 80. Winds will be out of the east at 11 to 14 mph with gusts up to 18 mph.

The daily rain chance this week bounces between 30 percent and 20 percent – but increases to 50 percent on Thursday and 60 percent on Friday.

Elsewhere around the U.S.: A developing winter storm is expected to drop up to a foot of snow over portions of the Northern Plains early this work week. Accumulating freezing rain is also expected over portions of the Plains…mainly in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. Freezing temperatures are possible over portions of the Southwest during the early part of Monday.
