Hurricane Joaquin is aiming into the North Atlantic to die.

The storm, which grew close to Category 5 strength on Saturday, is projected to steadily weaken and fall apart in about two days.

At 2 p.m. Monday, Joaquin was 195 miles north or Bermuda, moving northeast at 13 mph with top winds of 85 mph.

The system pummeled the Bahamas Thursday through Saturday and brought rough weather to Bermuda on Sunday. It also sank a cargo ship with 33 crewmembers onboard.

The National Hurricane Center also is monitoring a disturbance in the central, for now giving it a low chance of developing over the next five days.
