The Low-Poly Island Desktop

Reader Saifali's desktop looks like something out of a pixelated fantasy game, and we love it. Part wallpaper and a few useful widgets, it's also easy to set up. Here's how he did it.

Saifali submitted his desktop to our Desktop Showcase, which is what you should do if you want to see it featured here! Just post it (and how you made it) to your Kinja blog (the one that came with your account) and tag it "desktop showcase." We'll see it, look it over, and if we like it, we'll feature it!

With that out of the way, if you want to make this desktop your own, here's what you'll need:

That's all there is to this one—it's simple and easy. We may have changed the clock colors to match the colors of the wallpaper (and maybe make it a little smaller), but other than that, the end result is pretty sharp looking and we can't complain. If you have trouble getting everything set up, or want to know how to get your desktop just so, head over to Saifali's kinja post at the link below—let him know we sent you!

Do you have a good-looking, functional desktop of your own to show off? Share it with us! Post it to your personal Kinja blog using the tag Desktop Showcase or add it to our Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell Flickr pool. Screenshots must be at least at least 640x360 and please include information about what you used, links to your wallpaper, skins, and themes, and any other relevant details. If your awesome desktop catches our eye, you might get featured!
