Save On Funeral Costs By Skipping a Printed Obituary

Funerals already cost a ton of money. With social media and the web, you can probably skip paying the newspaper to run an obituary.

Newspapers often charge for printed obituaries-usually the same price as a classified ad. In some situations, you'll need to run those ads in multiple cities. With the rise in social media and the fall of newspapers, a newspaper obit probably isn't worth it. A funeral home will list the funeral on their web site, so the information is easily sharable. Obviously, if you have the opportunity, ask the person if it's okay to skip the printed obituary. Ask them how to notify others on social media along with other social media estate planning.

If you want to avoid a printed obituary for yourself, let others know your wishes. Check out the link for other ways to save on funeral costs.
