Voters cast their ballots on Election Day 2014
City Council and school board candidates throughout Cuyahoga County are invited to take part in debates moderated by Northeast Ohio Media Group reporters this fall. The video debates will be the basis of our online voter guide and stories in the Sun News.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Running for a suburban city council or school board in November?
Northeast Ohio Media Group will host debates in our downtown studio for each contested race in Cuyahoga County and air them on cleveland.com.
The debates will be the basis for our online voter guide, and to be included in the guide, you must participate in the debate. Reporters will use information gathered from the debates to write stories about issues and candidates for the Sun News.
Community reporters will moderate the hour-long debates on municipal and education issues, beginning in July and running through October. Candidates will have the opportunity to explain their stance on issues in their own words and challenge their opponents to do the same
These debates are coordinated by the newsroom and are separate from any endorsement interviews, including for mayoral candidates, arranged by the editorial board.
To make sure we can cram debates for dozens of races into a few months, the time and date of your debate are not negotiable. If you are unable to attend, your absence will be noted during the session.
You'll get a letter from the reporter covering your race, with your scheduled date and time, after you turn in petitions to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.
